These terms govern your use of NoteBoxd, the app for logging, rating, and reviewing the music you listen to. By creating an account or using NoteBoxd, you agree to the terms below.
Your Account
You must be at least 16 years old to use NoteBoxd. The app uses Sign in with Apple as its only sign-in method — there’s no email/password or third-party login. Your use of Sign in with Apple is also subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. You’re responsible for the activity on your account; let us know right away if you think someone else has access to it.
Your Content
When you post a review, rating, comment, reply, or community list, you keep ownership of it. By posting, you grant NoteBoxd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app so we can operate and improve the service. You're solely responsible for what you post.
Community Guidelines & Objectionable Content
Keep it respectful. Don't post content that's illegal, harassing, hateful, spammy, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't attempt to manipulate ratings, impersonate another person, or scrape the app without permission. NoteBoxd has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior of any kind. Every user can block other accounts and report content or accounts directly within the app; we review reports and act on them, including removing content or suspending or terminating accounts that violate these guidelines.
Notes Virtual Currency
Notes are earned by completing free daily in-app tasks and can be spent on cosmetic profile items such as Vinyls and Artists. Notes have no cash value, cannot be purchased with real money, and cannot be sold, exchanged, cashed out, refunded, or transferred between accounts. We may adjust how Notes are earned, spent, or valued at any time.
Events & RSVPs
Concert and event listings, including venue, date, and artist details, are submitted by users as free text. NoteBoxd does not verify the accuracy of user-submitted event details and does not collect or use your device's location in connection with this feature. NoteBoxd is not responsible for the accuracy of event information or for anything that happens at an event.
Music & Third-Party Data
Album art, artist names, and release information shown in NoteBoxd are retrieved from the Spotify Web API. NoteBoxd is not affiliated with, and does not claim ownership over, any artist, label, or streaming platform referenced in the app.
Intellectual Property
The NoteBoxd name, logo, and app design are owned by NoteBoxd. Aside from the license you grant us to your own content, nothing in these terms gives you rights to our trademarks, branding, or underlying software.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from within the app; doing so permanently deletes your account and its associated content, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe put other users or the service at risk.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
NoteBoxd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NoteBoxd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as NoteBoxd evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
